Training and Certifications
The Tahoe Douglas Fire District uses instructors and the curriculum set forth by the California Fire Service Training and Education System (CFSTES) to teach the classes required for certificates.
CFSTES has 11 categories of certification courses: 1) Driver/Operator, 2) EMS, 3) Fire Command, 4) Firefighter, 5) Fire Instructor, 6) Fire Investigation, 7) Fire Management, 8) Fire Mechanic, 9) Fire Prevention, 10) Hazardous Materials, 11) Public Education.
